Bye Elections into a new board set to hold seven days later

The September 30 elections into the current board of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has been nullified by the Appeals Committee, declaring the seat vacant and setting a new date for a bye election

In a meeting attended by some journalist on Thursday, chairman of the Appeals Committee, Barrister Ajunwa who alone addressed the press in the absence of the other members; namely Mallam Sani Mohammed, Mr Dotun Coker, Mr Victor Nwangwu, Mr Bala Garba and the Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, passed the verdict of nullification of the General Congress meeting of September 30 in Warri which produced Pinnick as president.

Ajunwa advised Pinnick to stop parading himself as NFF president while he declared a bye-election to hold in seven days.

He also announced the dismissal of Mr Dotun Coker from the Appeals Committee, citing that he was a member of a committee set up by the Amaju Pinnick board.

Ajunwa’s election upholds those who were initially cleared to contest the election before September 30, including Chris Giwa and others while former Enyimba boss, Felix Anyansi Agwu is excluded.

Vice President of the NFF, Seyi Akinwunmi is also affected and rescinds the position according to the decision.

This move is contrary to the decision reached by other members of the Committee; Mallam Sani Mohammed, Mr Dotun Coker, Mr Victor Nwangwu, Mr Bala Garba and the secretary, Mohammed Sanusi who in a signed letter upheld the elections, warning that the Chairman, Barrister Ajunwa might come up with ''dissenting minority opinion'
