J.K. Rowling’s Secret Crime Novels Are Set To Strike Television

Do you already know about Cormoran Strike, the private investigator protagonist of a series of crime novels written by Robert Galbraith, who totally isn’t J.K. Rowling in disguise? If not, you’re about to learn all about him.
Rowling announced on Twitter that BBC is set to adapt “The Cuckoo’s Calling,” the first novel in the Cormoran Strike series. It’s so strange that she made the announcement, and not her “friend” Galbraith…

Jokes aside, Rowling writes the Cormoran Strike series using Robert Galbraith as a pseudonym. The books follow Cormoran, a former Army officer who becomes a private investigator. Two books in the series currently exist: “The Cuckoo’s Calling,” published in 2013, and this year’s “The Silkworm.”
It’s Rowling’s latest novel to hit the small-screen, as her first “Harry Potter” followup “The Casual Vacancy” is premiering on BBC and HBO in 2015. In other live-action Rowling adaptation news, the “Potter” author penned the script for the wizarding world prequel “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” in theaters in 2016.
